Once a shipment is collected, the shipping company assumes responsibility. Our company will work with them to locate the package and initiate an investigation. Customers must monitor their package and seek updates promptly. Failure to meet shipping company timeframes will halt investigations. Responsibility shifts to customers once local partners take over delivery as our company is unable to communicate with them.
Once a parcel is marked as delivered by the courier, our responsibility as a business is considered fulfilled. Our shipping insurance covers packages only while they are in transit. If a package is confirmed as successfully delivered to the address provided and is then stolen, it is unfortunately not covered under our shipping insurance or by the courier.
We strongly recommend ensuring a secure delivery location when placing online orders. This may include using a lockable mailbox, delivering to a work address, or choosing parcel lockers or signed delivery options where available.
If your package has been stolen, you may wish to file a police report and check if your personal or home insurance policy covers theft of parcels from your property.
The Book Spice is based in Brisbane Australia, this is where we ship from.
At The Book Spice, we operate on a store credit only basis for all eligible returns. Refunds are not provided unless we have explicitly stated otherwise in writing.
If you place multiple separate orders and request to have them combined, we’re happy to assist! In this case, a store credit will be issued for any excess shipping charges minus the difference in shipping cost due to weight increase. This difference will vary depending on the final combined weight and destination.
Unless we have expressly confirmed that a full refund will be provided, store credit remains the standard resolution.
